Oceanside Flame Opalescent (style OGTS602F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, thin glass threads of bright opalescent orange.
Appearance
A vivid warm orange, opalescent and opaque with a glossy surface. The threads read as a solid bright orange line, warm and flame-like along their length.
Working notes
As an opal, the orange reads as a solid line over any base rather than transmitting light. A full fuse melts the threads flush into the surface, while a tack fuse leaves them raised for fine texture.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads, ideal for drawing lines, outlines, and fine linework across a base. Lay them by hand for detail or fuse them in for delicate pattern. A full fuse melts them flush while a tack fuse keeps them raised. This is System 96 96 COE glass.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
