Oceanside Deep Aqua Transparent Frit (style 5333-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, crushed deep aqua blue transparent glass for shading and accents.
Appearance
This frit is a bright deep aqua blue, transparent, with glassy sparkling grains that catch the light. The chips vary in size and glow on their broken faces.
Working notes
Transparent aqua frit glows over a light base and deepens over dark. It reads strongest as water and sky shading where light can pass through.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass sold in grades from fine powder to coarse chips. Sift a light layer for soft shading, blend grades for gradients, or pack it deeper for casting and surface texture.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
