Oceanside Lemongrass is a bright lime-green opalescent frit, System 96 96 COE fusible crushed glass.
Appearance
Bright, zesty lime green granules. As an opalescent color the pieces stay opaque and saturated, a fresh tone close to lemon-lime.
Working notes
A thin scatter gives a light green wash while a deeper layer builds a solid band of color. Coarser grades keep more texture through a tack fuse; a full fuse melts the pieces smooth.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass sold in grades from powder to coarse. Use it to shade and blend, build gradients, add surface texture, or pack a mold for casting.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. Matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility across makers, so fire a small test tile when mixing brands.
