Oceanside Red Opalescent (style OGT25072SF) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a solid true red opal in a smooth sheet.
Appearance
The photo shows an even, saturated red with a slightly warm cast, reading as a solid opalescent color rather than a see-through glass. The face is smooth and glossy, with no streaking or texture across the sheet.
Working notes
As an opal, this red works as a solid block of color and stays true whether it sits over a light or dark base. The smooth face carries through a full fuse, and a tack fuse keeps height while softening edges. It makes a strong solid ground or a bold accent against clear and white transparents.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth.
