Oceanside Red Opalescent (style OGTS2502F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, a solid red supplied as thin glass threads.
Appearance
A bundle of thin red glass threads, straight and even in length. The color is opalescent and solid, a clean opaque red with a glossy surface on each thread.
Working notes
This solid red draws crisp lines that hold their color against any background.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads for fine lines and linework. Lay them straight for borders and grids, snap them to length, or bend them under a flame into curves. They fuse flush at a full fuse or stay slightly raised at a tack fuse.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
