Oceanside Light Olive Transparent stringers (style OGTS5282F) are System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible glass threads, a soft yellow-green for linework.
Appearance
A light olive, a soft yellow-green that reads as a clear chartreuse when light passes through each transparent thread. Crossed together they build a bright grassy green, and laid singly they become fine transparent lines of olive.
Working notes
These stringers brighten over a light base and deepen over dark backing. A tack fuse keeps them raised, while a full fuse melts them flush. Being a low copper-bearing color, they can react where they cross sulfur-bearing glass, as noted below.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads used to draw fine lines and linework across a fused piece. Lay them straight for borders and grids or bend them under heat for stems, vines, and curves. Snip them to length and tack or full fuse them in place. This is System 96 96 COE glass.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
