Oceanside Light Olive Transparent Frit (style 5282-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, crushed transparent glass in a light olive green.
Appearance
Crushed transparent glass in a clear olive green. Light passes through the granules for a bright, glassy sparkle, and the color reads as a fresh yellow-green.
Working notes
The transparent olive reads brightest over a pale base or with light behind it. Sprinkle thin for a soft tint or deeper for stronger color; a full fuse melts it in while a tack fuse keeps a grainy texture.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass in graded sizes. Add color washes, gradients, and surface detail, or fill open areas in a mold.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
