Oceanside Pale Gray (style OGTS1808F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible glass sold as stringers, thin threads in a soft transparent gray.
Appearance
These are fine glass threads in a pale, cool gray, so light and neutral that they read as clear glass with a faint smoky tint. As a transparent the gray is quiet and subtle, useful anywhere you want a soft line without a strong color. Massed together the threads look almost silver, and laid singly they nearly disappear into a clear base.
Working notes
Stringers lay down thin lines of color, and a pale gray gives shading, wire, and outline detail without shouting. A full fuse melts them flush into the surface, while a tack fuse leaves them slightly raised for texture. Over a light base the gray stays soft, and over dark it reads as a fine pale line.
Reactions
This color is not on the System 96 reactive list, so it sits next to other colors without forming a reaction line. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors that do react.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin threads of glass, ideal for lines, outlines, lettering, and fine linework across a fused piece. Lay them straight, snap them to length, or bend them warm into curves. These stringers are System 96 96 COE.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
