Oceanside Turquoise Blue (style OGTS2334F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible glass sold as stringers, thin threads in an opalescent turquoise blue.
Appearance
These fine threads are a bright turquoise blue with the solid, milky quality of an opal, so the color reads full and even rather than passing light like a transparent. Massed in the tube they glow a strong tropical blue-green; laid singly each thread is a crisp turquoise line.
Working notes
The bright turquoise shows clearly on both light and dark glass. A full fuse melts the threads flush, while a tack fuse keeps them slightly raised.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the stringers
Stringers are thin threads, ideal for lines, outlines, lettering, and fine linework. Lay them straight, snap them to length, or bend them warm into curves.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other System 96 glass at 96 COE. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
