Oceanside Vanilla Cream Opalescent Stringers (style OGTS2103F) are System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, thin threads of pale cream glass.
Appearance
These are thin threads in a soft vanilla cream, pale and warm with a gentle opal glow. The color is close to off white, so single threads read as soft light lines and bundles look creamy and dense. Quiet and neutral in tone.
Working notes
Cream opal stringers make a soft light line that shows well over darker grounds and blends gently over light ones. The thin threads add fine linework and highlights without much height. They fuse into the surface cleanly, melting flat on a full fuse and holding a raised line on a tack fuse.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads used for fine lines and linework. Lay them straight for borders and grids, snap them to length, or warm and bend them into curves and script. They fuse into the surface for crisp detail without adding much thickness. They are System 96 96 COE.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
