Oceanside Dark Blue Transparent (style OGT136SFIR) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a deep transparent blue with an iridescent surface coating.
Appearance
A rich deep blue, transparent and clear, carrying an iridescent sheen that shifts from blue to purple and violet across the surface as the light moves. The iridized face has a soft metallic shimmer while the color underneath stays a clean cobalt-leaning blue.
Working notes
The iridescent coating sits on one face. Place that face up to show the shimmer, and the reverse is plain transparent blue. As a transparent it lets light through and reads as a colored glass over a lightbox or window. A full fuse keeps the coating intact when the iridized side faces up, so plan your stack with that in mind.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
