Oceanside Dark Blue Transparent Stringers (style OGTS136F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, thin threads of transparent dark blue glass.
Appearance
Thin threads in a deep transparent dark blue. Light passes through each strand for a rich cobalt tone that reads darker where threads cross and brighter where a single strand catches the light.
Working notes
The lines glow where light passes and deepen where they overlap. They stand up as raised lines through a tack fuse and settle into the surface on a full fuse.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the stringers
Stringers are thin threads for adding fine lines, outlines, and linework. Place them on the surface for crisp detail, or bend and shape them into curves.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
