Oceanside Dark Green (style 125-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, crushed transparent dark green glass.
Appearance
The granules glow a rich forest green when light passes through them and catch bright highlights on their broken edges, sparkling like jewels in the pile.
Working notes
Transparent, so it reads brightest over light bases and deepens over dark ones. A heavy scatter builds a solid green field; a light sprinkle gives soft shading.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass sold in different grain sizes. Sprinkle it over a base for soft color transitions, pack it into a mold for casting, or use it to add texture and detail to a fused piece.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
