Oceanside Dark Green Opalescent noodles are System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible glass ribbons, a deep green for stripes and detail.
Appearance
The noodles are a deep, dense green, so dark they read almost black in the bundle and open to a rich bottle-green at the thin edges where light comes through. Laid singly they become clean dark green bands with a jewel-like glow along the edge.
Working notes
Dark green noodles lay down bold, deep bands for stripes, borders, and accents, giving strong contrast against lighter colors. A tack fuse keeps them raised for a ribbed surface, while a full fuse melts them flush into the piece. As a high copper-bearing color they can react where they meet sulfur-bearing glass.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the noodles
Noodles are flat ribbon strands of glass used for stripes, borders, and fine detail. Lay them across a base for clean bands of color or cut them into shorter accents. Tack fuse to keep them raised or full fuse to melt them flush. This is System 96 96 COE glass.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
