Oceanside Light Blue (style OGTS132F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, thin transparent blue glass threads.
Appearance
A clean, medium transparent blue that reads bright where light passes through the fine round threads. Bundled together they stack into a deep blue; single threads show the lighter, glassy blue.
Working notes
As thin glass, stringers fuse quickly, so watch them near the top of your schedule. A tack fuse keeps the thread raised on the surface, while a full fuse sinks it flush with the base.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Lay these thin threads for outlines, script, borders, and grids, and snap them to length by hand.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other System 96 glass at 96 COE. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
