Coat the mold forming surface with kiln wash or a shelf primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer and let it dry completely before placing glass.
Place a pre-cut sheet or fused blank over the mold, sized to fit the oval. Measure your mold first, since handmade molds vary slightly from piece to piece.
Ramp slowly to slumping temperature to avoid thermal shock. Visually confirm the glass has fully settled into the form before moving to the anneal phase.
Cool in a controlled way with an anneal soak appropriate for your glass (about 900 F for COE90, 950 F for COE96), then a slow cool to room temperature.
Recoat the mold with kiln wash between firings as needed.

This is a suggested starting schedule for slumping 6mm pieces in a Paragon GL24, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently and glass styles vary in viscosity. Visually confirm the slump during firing and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.
