Greenman Textured Fusing Tile

The Greenman Textured Fusing Tile from Creative Paradise is a 12 inch by 12 inch ceramic tile that imprints a detailed Green Man relief pattern into the surface of glass during kiln fusing. It is used in place of a standard kiln shelf tile: prime the surface, lay your glass sheet on top, and fire so the softening glass picks up the raised Green Man texture from below. The tile measures 17.25 inches diagonally, fitting comfortably under a full 12 inch square glass blank.

Frit can also be applied directly to the tile surface and fused to create a textured pattern without a pre-made blank. Like all ceramic kiln tiles, this one is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings with proper prep and care.

What does the Greenman Textured Fusing Tile make?
It imprints a Green Man relief pattern into the bottom surface of a glass sheet during fusing. You can also apply frit directly to the tile surface and fire it to create a patterned fused piece.

How do I use it in the kiln?
Prime the tile surface with a glass separator or kiln wash and let it dry completely. Lay your pre-cut glass sheet on top and fire using a fusing schedule suited to your glass. The glass softens and conforms to the raised texture on the tile surface below.

Can I use frit directly on the tile?
Yes. Frit applied to the primed tile surface and fired will take on the raised texture pattern, producing a fused piece with a detailed relief surface without needing a pre-made blank.

What COE glass works with this tile?
Any COE. Ceramic texture tiles are COE agnostic, so the same tile works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.

Working Notes

These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a fusing schedule suited to your glass and kiln.

• Prime the tile surface with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer, or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer, following the manufacturer's instructions for applying and curing. Let it dry completely before placing glass.
• Lay your pre-cut glass sheet on the primed tile, or apply frit to the tile surface for a textured fused piece. Fire using a full fuse schedule matched to your glass.
• The tile is COE agnostic. Use a schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the final anneal soak for your COE.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the fused piece. Re-coat the tile with separator as needed between firings.

This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.

Full Fuse, Single Layer (COE96):

*Segment 5 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
