Each slice in this bag shows a ladybug: a rounded red body split by a thin black center line, black spots on each wing cover, a solid black head, and a clear glass border framing the whole figure. The red is opaque and consistent from slice to slice, and the clear surround keeps the image open and readable over white or light colored base glass.
Murrini, also called millefiori, are small cross-section slices of patterned glass cane. Each slice is placed individually on the surface of a fused glass project and fired in as a decorative accent. These COE90 murrini work on pendants, brooches, plates, dishes, suncatchers, ornaments, and other flat or shallow fused pieces.

A full fuse schedule melts the murrini flat and flush into the surface of your glass, folding the ladybug level with the surrounding piece. A tack fuse, using a lower peak temperature or a shorter hold, keeps more of the slice raised and preserves a rounder, more three dimensional look. Choose based on the result you are after.
Before using the full bag, fire one or two test slices with a small piece of your base glass. Kilns vary in how they distribute heat, and different glass brands within the same COE family can behave differently. A test run confirms your schedule before you commit the whole batch.
