Oceanside Peacock Green (style 2234-96) is System 96 tested compatible 96 COE fusible frit, deep teal-green opalescent crushed glass.
Appearance
These granules are a deep, rich peacock green that sits between teal and green. As an opalescent color the pieces read solid and saturated in the pile. Broken into frit they catch the light along their cut edges.
Working notes
Frit has a large surface area, so a thin scatter gives a light wash of green while a deeper layer builds a solid band of color. Coarser grades keep more texture through a tack fuse, and a full fuse melts the pieces smooth. As a copper-bearing color it can shade against sulfur-bearing glass where they meet.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass sold in grades from powder to coarse. Use it to shade and blend color, build gradients, add surface texture, or pack a mold for casting. Layer it over base glass or mix grades for depth. It is System 96 96 COE and fuses with the rest of the System 96 family.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
