Oceanside Medium Amber Transparent stringers (style OGTS1108F) are System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible glass threads, a warm honey-amber for linework.
Appearance
The stringers are a warm honey-amber, transparent so each thread glows a clear golden brown when light passes through. Bundled together they read as a rich amber, and laid singly they become fine transparent lines of warm gold.
Working notes
Amber stringers draw warm transparent lines that brighten over a light base and deepen over dark backing. Lay them straight for borders or bend them under heat for curves and script. A tack fuse keeps them raised for texture, while a full fuse melts them flush into the surface. As a medium sulfur-bearing color they can react where they cross copper-bearing glass.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads used to draw fine lines and linework across a fused piece. Lay them straight for borders and grids or bend them under heat for curves. Snip them to length and tack or full fuse them in place. This is System 96 96 COE glass.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
