Script Letters Decal Sheet

This sheet holds a full cursive alphabet and numeral set printed in warm gold metallic ink. The uppercase letters run in flowing connected script with looping strokes, the lowercase letters follow in the same style, and a set of numerals 0 through 9 rounds out the sheet. Many characters are printed two or three times, so you have duplicates of common letters for spelling names, dates, initials, or short phrases.

This is a water-slide transfer that bonds to the surface of pre-fired glass during firing, so it works with any COE glass. Trim the characters you need, soak each in room-temperature water for about 30 seconds, slide it from the backing onto clean pre-fired glass, smooth from the center outward to remove trapped water and air, let it dry completely, then fire.

Can I use these on both COE 90 and COE 96 glass?
Yes. Fusible glass decals are applied to the surface of pre-fired glass rather than fused as a structural layer, so coefficient of expansion does not apply. This sheet is compatible with any COE glass.

What finish do the letters have?
The characters are printed in a warm gold metallic ink, as shown in the product image. This is a single-color sheet, so fire it toward the lower end of its range for the best bond and color.

Can I cut individual letters apart to spell names or dates?
Yes. Trim individual characters from the sheet with scissors before soaking. Each character can then be positioned and applied independently, giving you full control over spacing when lettering a name, date, initials, or short phrase.

Working Notes

After positioning decals on pre-fired glass, allow the piece to dry fully before loading the kiln, since residual moisture beneath a decal can cause cracking or lifting, particularly when characters sit close together. Because this is a single-color sheet, target the lower end of the range for full color. A test firing on scrap glass is recommended before working on a finished piece, as kiln behavior, glass color, and surface texture all affect the result.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results): This is a single-color decal, so fire toward the lower end of its range to keep the image dense. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees F and fire slowly below 500 degrees F. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass.
50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees F, hold 20 min.
150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees F, hold 15 min.
250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees F, hold 15 min.
600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees F, hold 10 min.
Then to 1240 to 1370 degrees F, hold about 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
