Trees Decal Sheet

The Trees Decal Sheet gathers a variety of individual tree silhouettes on a single printed sheet, rendered in warm gold, bronze, and deep brown tones. The assortment covers a wide range of forms: bare winter trees with fine branching, full oaks with broad layered canopies, tall evergreen pines, a weeping willow, and a palm. Some designs read as bright warm gold while others fire toward a richer bronze or dark brown, giving you a mix of visual weights for different glass projects.

These are water-slide fusible glass decals. To use one, cut an individual tree from the sheet, soak it briefly in room-temperature water until the image releases from its backing, then slide it onto clean, fully pre-fired glass. Smooth out water and air bubbles from the center outward, let the piece dry completely, and fire in your kiln. Because the decal bonds to the glass surface rather than fusing as a compatible glass layer, no COE matching is required and it works on any pre-fired glass. Use these tree motifs to accent bowls, panels, ornaments, or mixed-media fused pieces with a natural woodland theme.

Do these decals work on any glass?
Yes. Water-slide decals adhere to the surface of pre-fired glass rather than fusing as a compatible glass layer, so no COE matching is needed. Clean the fired glass thoroughly before application for the best adhesion.

How do I apply a decal from this sheet?
Cut each tree from the sheet individually. Soak the cut piece in room-temperature water for about 30 seconds, or until the decal slides freely from its paper backing. Position it on dry, clean pre-fired glass, smooth it flat to remove bubbles and water, and let it dry fully before loading the kiln.

Does the gold tone affect firing?
The gold and bronze designs carry a metallic finish. Fire in the range noted in the Working Notes, and always test a single decal on a sample piece before a finished project, as every kiln fires differently.

Working Notes

Apply each decal to a fully pre-fired, clean glass surface. Soak, slide, smooth, and allow to dry completely before loading your kiln. Test a single decal on scrap glass first, as every kiln fires differently. Anneal for the thickness of your glass.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results): Fire to roughly 1240 to 1370 degrees F, held about 10 minutes, keeping toward the lower end to preserve the density of the print. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees, hold 20 min.
150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees, hold 15 min.
250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees, hold 15 min.
600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees, hold 10 min.
Then to 1240 to 1370 degrees, hold about 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
