Stell Strips organizes the glass into long parallel bands that march across the sheet at an even pitch. The directional layout gives a strong linear feel, and pieces cut from it keep that clean banded structure. The Stell Strips design is the work of glass artist Chris Stell.
The Mixture Fusion coating blends several colors that melt into one another along the strip lines as light shifts. Rather than holding distinct bands of color, the tones fuse and flow, so blues, greens, and golds bleed across the strips when you turn the glass.
Test a small piece before a full project because the fused color blend depends on firing.

What is CBS Dichroic glass?
Dichroic glass is known for showing different colors depending on light and viewing angle. Ancient examples include the Roman Lycurgus Cup, whose color shift came from tiny gold and silver particles within the glass. Modern art dichroic glass uses a different thin-film coating approach: very thin metal or metal-oxide layers on the glass surface reflect some wavelengths of light while allowing others to pass through. CBS Dichroic glass applies this coating over a base glass, and the coating is on one side only.
