Stell Strips runs the coating in straight parallel bands across the glass, a repeating strip layout with a steady, even cadence. The Mixture Fusion coating fuses several colors along each strip, so the bands carry blended tones that change down their length. Offered on clear and black base, the strips show up bright or deep depending on the base you select. This pattern is by artist Chris Stell.
With the dichroic coating on one face, the strips shift as light and angle move. Mixture Fusion blends its colors so the strips slide from one tone to the next without hard edges, the whole band set cycling as you tilt. Clear base passes light through the strips for a luminous effect; black base concentrates the fused colors into denser bands.
Each kiln behaves a little differently, so test a small piece first.
