Colored Peacock Decal Sheet

This fusible decal sheet carries five stylized peacock designs in a decorative illustrative style. Each bird is rendered in rich teal and turquoise, with flowing tail feathers and curling plumes traced in warm gold line work. The fine detail running through the body and feathers gives each peacock an ornate, layered look. These are water-slide fusible glass decals. They are applied to the surface of pre-fired glass and fired on top, not fused as a compatible glass layer, so they work with any COE glass in your studio. Soak a decal in room-temperature water until the image releases from its paper backing, slide it into position on clean dry glass, smooth out water and air bubbles from the center outward, and allow the piece to dry completely before loading the kiln.

How do I apply a water-slide glass decal?
Cut the individual decal from the sheet and soak it in room-temperature water for about 30 to 60 seconds until the image slides freely off its backing. Position it on clean, grease-free pre-fired glass. Use a soft squeegee or your fingertip to press out water and bubbles, working from the center outward. Let the piece dry fully before placing it in the kiln.

What COE glass do these decals require?
No specific COE is required. Because the decal is applied to the surface of pre-fired glass and fired on top rather than fused as a compatible glass layer, it works with any COE glass you already have in your studio.

How many decals are on this sheet and how large are they?
The sheet measures 5.25 by 4 inches and includes 5 peacock decals ranging in size from about 2.5 inches down to 1.5 inches, giving you a variety of sizes to place across different project formats.

Can I layer these with other decals or fire them in stages?

Working Notes

Apply decals to clean, grease-free pre-fired glass and allow the piece to dry completely before kiln loading. These decals fire in a suggested range of roughly 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes and kept toward the lower end to preserve the density of the print.

Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees, hold 20 min.
150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees, hold 15 min.
250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees, hold 15 min.
600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees, hold 10 min.
Then to 1240 to 1370 degrees, hold about 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
