This sheet holds 25 Easter egg decals arranged in a 5 by 5 grid, each one rendered in a warm gold tone with a distinct decorative pattern. No two eggs are alike: individual designs feature florals, geometric cross-hatching, dot grids, radial stripes, lattice work, checkerboard fields, and small ornamental scrolls. The gold coloring gives the set a traditional, celebratory character well suited to spring ornaments, fused tiles, votive holders, and sun catchers.
These are water-slide transfers applied onto pre-fired glass. Soak a decal in water for about 20 to 30 seconds, slide it off the backing onto clean glass, smooth from the center outward to clear water and air bubbles, then let it dry completely before firing. Because the decal is applied to the surface rather than fused as a glass layer, it is compatible with any COE glass.
Do these decals work with my COE glass? Yes. Water-slide decals are fired onto the surface of pre-fired glass and are not fused as a compatible glass layer, so they work with any COE system.
How many decals are on the sheet and how large are they? The sheet measures 5.25 by 4 inches and carries 25 Easter egg decals, each roughly 1 by 0.6 inch.
Can I cut the sheet to use individual eggs separately? Yes. Use sharp scissors or a craft knife to separate individual eggs from the sheet before soaking. This lets you place each design precisely where you want it on the glass.
Can these decals be applied to curved or slumped glass? Yes. Apply decals to pieces that have already been slumped and pre-fired. The decal conforms to the surface as it dries, and firing bonds it in place.
Specifications
SKU: 170531 Sheet size: 5.25 by 4 inches Decal count: 25 Easter egg decals per sheet Individual decal size: roughly 1 by 0.6 inch Firing range: 1240 to 1370 degrees F Working Notes
Apply decals to clean, dry, pre-fired glass. Soak the decal briefly in water, slide it off the backing, and smooth outward from the center to remove air and water. Allow the piece to dry fully before firing. The decals on this sheet appear in a gold tone. This is a single-color sheet, so fire toward the lower end of the stated range as noted in the schedule below.
Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results): This is a single-color decal, so fire toward the lower end of its range to keep the image dense. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees F and fire slowly below 500 degrees F. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass. 50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees F, hold 20 min. 150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees F, hold 15 min. 250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees F, hold 15 min. 600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees F, hold 10 min. Then to 1240 to 1370 degrees F, hold about 10 min. Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
