Large Circles 1 Decal Sheet

This sheet holds twelve circle decals, each printed in deep navy blue on a clear base. Every circle carries a different concentric geometric design: some feature rings of radiating spokes fanning out from a center point, others display concentric bands of small dots or gear-like teeth, and still others are built from zigzag or chevron rings stacked toward the center. The motifs share a mandala-like symmetry, with fine linework that holds its detail at a compact scale. No two circles on the sheet are the same, giving you twelve distinct patterns to work with across one project or several.

These are water-slide fusible glass decals. To apply, soak a decal briefly in room-temperature water until the paper backing releases, slide it onto the surface of clean pre-fired glass, smooth firmly from the center outward with a soft squeegee or fingertip to remove water and trapped air, and allow it to dry fully before loading the kiln. The decal bonds to the glass surface during firing. Because these decals are fired onto an already-fired piece rather than fused as a compatible glass layer, they work on any COE glass.

What do the designs look like?
Each of the 12 circles has a unique concentric geometric pattern in navy blue. The designs include rings of radiating spoke lines, concentric dot borders, gear-toothed rings, and stacked zigzag or chevron bands, all arranged in symmetrical layers within the circle. The look is graphic and geometric, with a feel similar to a simplified mandala.

What type of glass can I use these on?
These decals work on any COE glass. The key requirement is that your base piece must be clean, grease-free, and already fired before the decal is applied. Because the decal bonds to the glass surface rather than fusing as a compatible layer, COE compatibility of the decal itself is not a constraint.

Can I cut individual decals from the sheet and save the rest for later?
Yes. Use scissors to separate only the circles you need for a given project. Store the remaining sheet flat in a dry location, away from humidity and direct sunlight, until you are ready to use it.

Working Notes

Apply decals only to glass that is clean, dry, and fully pre-fired. After soaking, slide the decal into position and smooth thoroughly from the center outward to eliminate water and air pockets beneath the film. Allow the piece to dry completely before placing it in the kiln. Avoid touching the decal surface with lotioned or oily hands after positioning.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a suggested starting point only, not a guarantee of results; every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass): Firing range 1240 to 1370 degrees F, kept toward the lower end to keep the color dense. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees. 50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees, hold 20 minutes. 150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees, hold 15 minutes. 250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees, hold 15 minutes. 600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees, hold 10 minutes. Then to 1240 to 1370 degrees, hold about 10 minutes. Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
