The Mini Scrap Master Cast-A-Cab mold from Creative Paradise is a pot melt vessel designed to work with Cast-A-Cab cavity molds. Load it with fusible scrap glass, set it over a prepared Cast-A-Cab mold, and fire so the glass melts and flows down into the cavities below, producing cast cabochons in the shape of the cavity mold.
The pot measures 7 inches by 4.5 inches with a height of 3.5 inches and a diagonal of 7.75 inches. Like all ceramic molds, it is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings with proper care. It is sold separately from the Cast-A-Cab cavity molds it is designed to be used with.
What does the Mini Scrap Master mold do? It is a pot melt vessel. Fill it with fusible scrap glass, place it over a prepared Cast-A-Cab cavity mold, and fire. The glass melts and pours into the cavities below, forming cast cabochons in the shape of whichever Cast-A-Cab mold you pair it with.
What Cast-A-Cab molds work with the Mini Scrap Master? Any Creative Paradise Cast-A-Cab cavity mold can be paired with the Mini Scrap Master. Set the pot over the prepared cavity mold in the kiln and fire so the molten glass flows into the shaped cavities below.
How much glass do I load into the pot? Creative Paradise does not list a fixed fill weight for this pot. Fill it with enough scrap to charge the cavity mold below, and test a first run to calibrate the amount for your specific Cast-A-Cab mold.
What COE glass can I use? Any COE. The ceramic pot is COE agnostic, so it works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a casting schedule suited to your glass and kiln.
Prime the interior of the pot with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer , or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer , and let it dry completely before adding glass.
Fill the pot with fusible scrap glass and set it over a prepared Cast-A-Cab cavity mold. Fire so the glass melts and flows down into the cavities below.
The pot is COE agnostic. Use a firing schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the anneal soak temperature for your COE.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the cast pieces. Re coat the pot with primer as needed between firings.
The Slide Hi Temp brand separator is not recommended with these molds.
Creative Paradise Suggested Firing Schedule
This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.
Pot Melt (COE96):
Segment Rate Temp (F) Hold 1 400 1600 75 2 9999 1500 30 3 9999 950* 90 4 100 825 10
*Segment 3 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
