Oceanside Light Green Frit (style 121-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, crushed light green glass in a clear transparent tone.
Appearance
Crushed glass granules in a bright light green, transparent so light passes through and lifts the whole pile to a fresh grassy green. The chips are irregular and glassy, reading as a clean spring green.
Working notes
As a transparent green it reads pale in a thin scatter and deeper where piled thicker, behaving like the sheet color in miniature.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass sold in grades from powder to coarse for shading, blending, and casting. Use it for soft gradients and color washes, pack it into molds for cast pieces, or blend it with other colors for new tones.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
