Oceanside Ruby Red Artique Transparent (style OGT152AF) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a deep ruby red in the textured Artique surface.
Appearance
This is a rich transparent ruby red that glows where light passes through. The Artique surface adds a hammered crinkled texture across the face, breaking the light into faceted highlights so the red shifts between deep and bright over the relief. Held to the light the color reads as a clear jewel red.
Working notes
As a transparent, ruby red reads brightest over a light ground and deepens over a dark base. The Artique texture lives on one face; facing it up keeps the most surface interest. A full fuse softens and can flatten much of the hammered texture toward gloss, while a tack fuse keeps it sharp. Layered over lighter glass the red stays clear and rich.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
