Oceanside Sky Blue Transparent Stringers (style OGTS5331F) are System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, thin threads of clear aqua blue glass.
Appearance
These are thin transparent threads in a bright aqua sky blue. Light passes straight through them, so the color reads clear and luminous, deepening where the threads bundle and lightening on single strands. Clean and glassy along their length.
Working notes
As a transparent line, sky blue reads brightest over a light ground and darker over a dark one. The thin threads lay crisp lines and detail without much thickness. They fuse smoothly into the surface, melting flat on a full fuse and holding a raised line on a tack fuse.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads used for fine lines and linework. Lay them straight for borders and grids, snap them to length, or warm and bend them into curves and script. They fuse into the surface for crisp detail without adding much thickness. They are System 96 96 COE.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
